Waverly Newspaper. The Lutheran Mutual Aid building was located on SE 1st St. When the company outgrew it, they built on the southeast on 1st St. Eventually the company name was changed to Century Companies of America. The building was dismantled to make room for more parking space for State Bank of Waverly. The Iowa Liquor store, Farmer Bureau office, Dr. E.H. Kromer, a credit office, and other occupied the building over the years. The Lutheran Mutual Aid building was built by the company when it first moved to Waverly from Maxfield township. At the time it moved to town, all the records were packed into a small wooden box.
